EGBOK & Park Hyatt Siem Reap
EGBOK's (Everything’s Gonna Be OK) mission is an international non-profit organization working to alleviate poverty in Cambodia by enabling underserved young adults to be self-supporting through the provision of education, training and employment opportunities in the hospitality industry. EGBOK utilizes a comprehensive approach with an emphasis on life skills development that prepares graduates for success throughout all aspects of their life and not just in their careers.
Even before the official opening in 2013, Park Hyatt Siem Reap has been supporting EGBOK in countless ways, from internship placements for students to specialized workshops for the team to donation of valuable training supplies for the Learning Center. Eight EGBOK alumni are now employed with Park Hyatt, bringing the partnership full circle.
The Hyatt Community grant will be a tremendous facilitator of the services and training EGBOK provides students, supporting medical, food, living and stipend costs as well as activities and workshops under the life skills development program. EGBOK’s model to support students is to provide service through service, and the Hyatt Community grant likewise does just that for EGBOK.
