Bastrop County Women’s Shelter & Hyatt Regency Lost Pines
The Family Crisis Center’s mission is to be the expert resource and service provider in eliminating domestic and sexual violence in Bastrop, Colorado, Fayette and Lee Counties. The Center strives to provide quality, comprehensive programs to assure victim safety and offender accountability with the ultimate goal of helping families create and maintain violence-free lives. The services offered include: a 24-hour crisis hotline; emergency shelter; transitional housing; case management; advocacy with legal, personal, medical, and systems issues; counseling; violence intervention for offenders; parenting education for mandated or at-risk parents; and violence prevention education for community youth and adults.
The Hyatt Regency Lost Pines has partnered with the Family Crisis Center since it opened in 2006. The Hyatt team has supported the agency through fundraising projects, hosting the agency’s holiday gala for many years, donation of furniture and other items, and volunteer projects, including painting and garden renovations at the emergency shelter facility in 2016.
The Hyatt Community Grant will be used to support a violence prevention Youth Summit for middle and high school students and to establish a scholarship program for senior members of local Youth Advisory Boards (YABs). YABs are made up of community youth who are interested in steering and developing prevention education activities on their school campuses and within their community.
